Scott butki just wrote an article about his dad. Mine was so unique that I felt I should tell his story. When he was about 20 ,he joined the Navy to be a gunners mate,on a submarine. But they found out that he had had scarlet fever as a child which gave him a heart murmer.

I'll keep this short because I hate to type. 1) The best lobster restaurants and taco stands are five minutes away. 2) The beach is a three minute walk. We can enjoy it almost every day of the year. 3) Booze and smokes are cheap, as well as all other living expenses.

Peaches was a buckskin mare that was lent to me and my friend Helen. We rode her everyday during the summer for three years. The owners couldn't afford a saddle, so we rode her bareback. She was big, just short of 15 hands.

My brother and I arrived in Daytona just before bike week. I had about a thousand dollars and gave my brother 300. We arrived at the beach and were stopped right away. I had an old beat up Porche and the beach patrol said I was exceeding the 10 mile an hour limit.

This little village 44 Kilometers south of Tijuana is well known for it's lobster restaurants. I have seen it change over the last 48 years. I was first taken down there when I was 7.

My first year of hitchhiking and exploring our beautiful states, was shared with Frank. He was really strange, we could be stuck in the desert or surrounded by cornfields and I'd have to listen to him sing (very badly) all the words to the latest Alice Cooper or Neil Young album.

Yes I had an early start in an adventurous life. I was five or six when I spent my first summer with Nanny & Grumps. Grumps was a lion tamer who worked for MGM studios. When he wasn't on location in some exotic land he did a lion show at Jungleland in Thousand Oaks, CA.
